MoviezAddiction: Hollywood, anime, Bollywood and South movies and series, from Project Hail Mary to Your Name.

MoviezAddiction built its following as a movie blog: every new Hollywood release, every anime film and series, and the biggest Indian hits appeared as a post, with a picture, a date and a few lines of story. The rebuilt MoviezAddiction keeps that magazine look, measured from the site's own theme: a white page on a black background, a bold uppercase title with a red tagline, a charcoal menu with a red underline, a list of posts with shadowed thumbnails, and a sidebar of handy widgets. Every title now opens on the official services that carry it, through one Watch now button.

This guide explains how MoviezAddiction works and what waits in each category. The first part tours the page. The second part walks the shelves: Hollywood films and the Marvel saga, animated films from Disney, Pixar and Studio Ghibli, anime films and series, Bollywood and South Indian hits, and English series. The third part is practical: Hindi dubs, services, free and legal viewing, devices, the official address and staying safe. The short version is the page on how to watch on MoviezAddiction.

The header

The page sits in a white wrapper, a little over a thousand pixels wide, framed by a soft shadow against a deep black background. At the top, the logo reads MOVIEZ in black and ADDICTION in red, beside a small red square with a white play symbol. Under it, the tagline appears in red capitals above a thin grey rule, exactly as the original theme styled its site description.

The charcoal menu

Below the header runs a charcoal menu with bold white capitals and fine dividers between the links: Home, Hindi Anime, Bollywood, Hollywood, Regional, TV Shows, A-Z and My List. These are the categories the original menu used. A thick red line runs along the bottom of the menu, and each link turns red as you point at it; the page you are on stays red. On phones, the menu folds into a charcoal button with three white bars beside the logo.

The Latest Posts list

The main column opens with Latest Posts, the heart of any movie blog. Each post shows a wide still from the film on the left, with rounded corners and a deep grey shadow that makes it seem to float above the page. On the right sit the title and year in bold, a line of grey details with a small clock and the release date and a folder with the category, a few lines of the story ending in an ellipsis, and a red Watch now link.

The list starts with the featured titles of the season, such as Project Hail Mary, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, Dune: Part Two and Saiyaara, then continues with the newest arrivals. A thin grey rule separates each post, and the categories follow the original's: Hollywood Movies, Hindi Anime, Bollywood Movies, Regional Movies and TV Shows.

The sidebar

To the right of the posts, the sidebar holds four widgets, each under an uppercase title with a red rule beneath it. Search finds any title by name or cast. Categories lists every shelf with its title count, each line marked with a small red arrow. Hindi Anime and TV Shows each list six popular titles with a small poster, the year and the score. On phones, the sidebar moves below the posts.

More categories

Under the two columns, three poster grids show more of the catalogue: Hollywood Movies, Anime Movies, and Bollywood and Regional films, each with a More posts link to its full shelf. The posters have rounded corners and a soft shadow, in keeping with the post thumbnails. The help section follows, with a card for each guide, and then this article.

The title page

Each title page keeps the magazine feel: the poster, a backdrop, the story, the year, the runtime or seasons, the score, the genres, the cast and the director or creators. Anime and English series list every season with its episodes and air dates. The Watch now button opens the viewing panel, and Add to My List keeps the title on the My List page.

The Watch now button

Press Watch now and a panel opens with a list of countries. Choose yours and the title opens on JustWatch, which lists every subscription, rental, purchase and free service that carries it there, with a direct link to each. The film plays in the service's own app or website, and MoviezAddiction remembers your country for next time.

Choosing your country

India comes first in the country list, followed by the United States, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Nepal, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa. Anime and Hollywood catalogues change from country to country, and the list shows exactly what is available where you are.

Hollywood on MoviezAddiction

Hollywood films in dual audio were the backbone of the original blog, and the Hollywood Movies shelf holds fifty-five of them, from the newest releases to the favourites of the last decade. The Hollywood guide gives a short tour.

When Marnie Was There, From Up on Poppy Hill and Arrietty are gentle stories about friendship and growing up, perfect for a quiet evening.

Hindi Anime

Hindi Anime was one of the original site's own menu items, and anime fans in India have grown enormously in number since, helped by Hindi dubs on the major services. The Hindi Anime shelf gathers anime films and series together, with separate shelves for Anime Movies and Anime Series. The anime guide gives a short tour.

Makoto Shinkai

Makoto Shinkai's films are among the most beautiful in anime, known for their glowing skies and bittersweet stories. Dual audio

The original MoviezAddiction was known for dual audio, films offered in both Hindi and English, and the official services today make this easy. Most Hollywood releases on services in India carry Hindi and English tracks, and many add Tamil and Telugu; many anime series and films carry Hindi dubs as well as the original Japanese; and South Indian films usually offer Hindi alongside their own language. Open the audio menu in the player, choose your language, and switch at any time. Subtitles in English, and often Hindi, are available too.

Services in India

In India, JioHotstar carries Disney, Pixar and Marvel films and many Hollywood titles, while Prime Video and Netflix carry a wide mix of Hollywood, Indian and anime titles. Crunchyroll specializes in anime, with many series in Hindi, and ZEE5 and SonyLIV carry Indian films. The streaming services guide lists them all.

Renting and buying

A brand-new Hollywood film usually appears first as a rental or purchase on Apple TV, Google TV and Prime Video, and moves onto a subscription service a little later. On MoviezAddiction, the Watch now panel lays out those prices next to the subscription choices, so you can pick the cheapest way to watch tonight.

Free and legal viewing

Plenty of titles are free and legal to watch. Crunchyroll and official anime channels offer selected episodes free, and JioHotstar, ZEE5, MX Player and the studios' own YouTube channels carry many free Indian films. In the United States, Tubi, Pluto TV and Plex carry many films free with adverts. The free movies guide has the details.

Phones, computers and televisions

MoviezAddiction works in any modern browser. On a computer, the post list and the sidebar sit side by side; on a phone, they stack and the menu folds into one button. Add MoviezAddiction to your home screen for one-tap access. The devices guide explains how to continue on your television.

My List

My List is the last link in the charcoal menu. Add to My List on any title page places the title on the My List page, where it waits with its poster in a neat grid. The list is kept by your browser, so it works from the first title. When you switch devices, export it as one small file and import it on the other one.

More ways to find titles

The search widget reads titles, original titles and cast names, so typing Tom Cruise, Shinkai or Allu Arjun finds their titles. The Categories widget opens every shelf, the A-Z page lists every title alphabetically, and the genre shelves for Action, Comedy, Family and Sci-Fi and Fantasy mix films and series. The finding titles guide sums it up.

The official MoviezAddiction

MoviezAddiction has one fixed address, shown in your browser's address bar. Bookmark it or add it to your home screen, and it opens with your country and My List in place. The official site guide describes the real MoviezAddiction: a white magazine page on a black background, the MOVIEZADDICTION logo, a charcoal menu with a red underline and shadowed post thumbnails. The site status page explains a few quick checks if a page is slow.

Staying safe

Safe streaming is simple. Use official apps and websites, keep your phone and browser updated, use a strong password and two-step sign-in on your streaming accounts, and close any pop-up that asks you to install something. MoviezAddiction has one button per title and sends you only to JustWatch and official services. The safety checklist has a few more tips.

How titles are chosen

MoviezAddiction's catalogue follows the categories of the original blog: Hollywood, Hindi anime, Bollywood, regional films and TV shows. Every title is chosen by hand from TMDB's lists of popular and highly rated films and series, and each one is checked to suit a general audience; anime and series built on fan service or adult content are left to other places.

Where the information comes from

Titles, posters, stories, cast, runtimes, seasons, episodes and scores come from TMDB, The Movie Database, through its official interface. The Watch now panel links to JustWatch, which tracks the services in each country. This guide and the help pages are written for MoviezAddiction, an independent site with its own writing, and the look is rebuilt from the archived theme of the original. The About page says more.

Your Name.

Your Name. is the anime film that won over the world. Mitsuha, a girl in a small mountain town, and Taki, a boy in Tokyo, begin waking up in each other's bodies on random mornings. At first it is a comedy of confusion, with notes left on phones and friends puzzled by strange behaviour, but the story turns into something much larger and more moving. With its glowing skies and famous songs, it is the perfect first anime film for anyone trying anime for the first time.

A Silent Voice

A Silent Voice: The Movie is one of the most moving films on the shelf. Shoya bullied Shoko, a deaf classmate, in primary school, and years later, lonely and full of regret, he sets out to make amends. The film treats friendship, forgiveness and loneliness with great care, and it is admired by viewers of every age. Keep a box of tissues nearby.

Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba became a phenomenon in Japan and around the world. After his family is attacked by demons, Tanjiro sets out to become a demon slayer and to find a cure for his sister Nezuko, who has been turned into a demon but still protects him. Its fight scenes, full of water and fire, are some of the most beautiful ever animated. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train continues the story aboard a haunted train, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle opens the final battle.

Watching Marvel in order

With so many Marvel films on the shelf, a viewing order helps. Here is one based on the story: Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. After that, the series WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki lead into Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It is a big project, and a wonderful one.

The Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced Miles Morales, a Brooklyn teenager who becomes Spider-Man and meets Spider-People from other dimensions. Its bold style, mixing comic-book dots, graffiti colours and hand-drawn lines, changed animation, and it won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse goes even further, with each world drawn in its own style.

Arcane

Arcane is one of the most beautiful animated series ever made. It follows two sisters, Vi and Jinx, torn apart and set on opposite sides of a conflict between the shining city of Piltover and the undercity of Zaun. Every frame looks painted by hand, and its story of family, loss and invention grips viewers who come to it fresh. Its two seasons make a perfect weekend binge for older teens and adults.

Frieren

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End begins where most fantasy stories end. The Demon King is defeated, and the elf mage Frieren, who lives for centuries, watches her human friends grow old. Regretting how little she knew them, she sets out on a new journey with young companions, retracing old roads and remembering. It is quiet, funny and deeply moving, and it has become one of the most loved anime of recent years.

Where to start with anime

For viewers new to anime, a few titles make a perfect introduction. Your Name. and Suzume are beautiful films that tell a complete story in two hours. SPY x FAMILY is a warm comedy that the whole family can enjoy, Death Note is a thriller for grown-ups who love a battle of wits, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is the best introduction to action anime. From there, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End are rewarding longer journeys.

A Ghibli evening

Studio Ghibli films are perfect for a quiet evening. Start with Arrietty, the story of a tiny girl living under the floorboards, move to When Marnie Was There, a gentle mystery about friendship by the sea, and end with The Boy and the Heron, Hayao Miyazaki's dreamlike reflection on grief and growing up. The Tale of The Princess Kaguya and The Wind Rises are best saved for another night, when you have time to let them linger.

A week with MoviezAddiction

Here is one way to enjoy a week of films and series. On Monday, start an anime series such as Haikyu!!. On Tuesday, watch a Pixar film such as Soul. On Wednesday, try a Tamil thriller such as Maharaja. On Thursday, watch two episodes of The Last of Us. On Friday, choose the newest Hollywood release from Latest Posts. On Saturday, invite friends for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame back to back, and on Sunday share a family film such as Coco or Moana.

Family night

For a family evening with children, the Animated Movies shelf has something for every age. The youngest will love Minions, Despicable Me 2 and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Slightly older children enjoy Zootopia, Big Hero 6 and Frozen II, and the whole family can share Inside Out, Coco or Moana. Most are offered in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu as well as English.

Space night

For a night among the stars, start with The Martian, in which an astronaut stranded on Mars survives with science and humour, then move to Interstellar, a voyage through a wormhole to save humanity, and end with Project Hail Mary, a science teacher's mission to save the sun. Between them, they show the best of Hollywood science fiction: big ideas, real science and plenty of heart.

Worth watching again

Some titles reward a second viewing. Your Name. reveals new clues once you know the twist, Death Note is even more tense when you know each player's plan, and Everything Everywhere All at Once is full of jokes you only catch the second time. Interstellar and Oppenheimer reward careful watching, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hides a detail in every frame.

Reading the scores

Each title page shows a score out of ten from the votes of TMDB's worldwide community of film fans. Anime series and Indian films often have fewer votes than Hollywood blockbusters, so their scores move more with each vote. The story, the cast and the genres on the title page help you decide the rest.

Death Note

Death Note is one of the most gripping thrillers in any form. Light Yagami, a brilliant student, finds a notebook dropped by a death god and decides to use it to rid the world of criminals. The mysterious detective L sets out to find him, and their battle of wits, played out through clever plans and double bluffs, keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. At thirty-seven episodes, it makes a perfect two-week binge for older teens and adults.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is often named the greatest anime series of all. Edward and Alphonse Elric, two brothers, try to bring their mother back with alchemy and pay a terrible price: Edward loses an arm and a leg, and Alphonse's soul is bound to a suit of armour. Their search for a way to restore their bodies uncovers a conspiracy that reaches the top of their country. It is exciting, funny and deeply moving, and its ending is one of the most satisfying in television.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once is unlike any other film on the shelf. Evelyn Wang, a tired laundromat owner facing a tax audit, discovers that she can connect with other versions of herself across the multiverse, in lives as a kung fu star, a chef and much stranger things. Behind the wild comedy and action lies a tender story about a mother and her daughter. It won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us adapts one of the most admired video games into a gripping drama. Twenty years after a fungal outbreak has overrun the world, a hardened smuggler named Joel is asked to escort Ellie, a teenage girl who may hold the key to a cure, across a ruined America. Its third episode, a quiet love story between two survivors, is often named one of the finest hours of television in recent years.

Shershaah

Shershaah tells the true story of Captain Vikram Batra, a young officer who became a hero of the Kargil war in 1999. It follows his life from his childhood in Palampur to the mountains of Kargil, and his love story with Dimple Cheema. It became one of the most watched Hindi films on streaming, and it is a moving tribute to courage and sacrifice.

RRR

RRR is the South Indian film that danced its way around the world. Set in the 1920s, it follows Bheem and Ram, two revolutionaries whose friendship is tested by their secret missions, and it builds to scenes of breathtaking action. Its song Naatu Naatu won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and audiences in cinemas from Hyderabad to Los Angeles danced in the aisles. Watch it in Telugu with subtitles or in Hindi with the family.

Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer is Christopher Nolan's portrait of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who led the project to build the first atomic bomb. It moves between his brilliant youth, the secret laboratory at Los Alamos and the hearings that later questioned his loyalty, with Cillian Murphy in a towering lead performance. It won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and it is best watched on the largest screen you have, with the sound turned up.
